Craving a healthy dessert that’s quick, easy, and incredibly satisfying? Look no further than this delightful chia seed pudding! Packed with nutrients and endlessly customizable, it’s the perfect guilt-free treat for any time of day.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy like almond, soy, oat)
- 1-2 tablespoons sweetener (maple syrup, honey, agave, or stevia)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional, enhances flavor)
- Optional Toppings: fresh berries, sliced fruit, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, granola, a drizzle of nut butter
Instructions
- In a jar, bowl, or container, combine the chia seeds, milk, sweetener, vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt.
- Stir well with a spoon or whisk to ensure there are no clumps and the chia seeds are evenly distributed.
- Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, then stir again thoroughly to prevent the seeds from clumping at the bottom.
- Cover the container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, until the pudding has thickened to your desired consistency.
- When ready to serve, give it a quick stir. If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk; if too thin, stir in a few more chia seeds and chill for an additional 30 minutes.
- Top with your favorite fresh fruits, nuts, or other desired toppings and enjoy!
